Jyri, I am very curious about being saved. I have several freinds who say
that after they are saved then they can do anything they want (sin) and they
are still saved. That makes no sense to me. Christ said if you love me
keep my commandments. Some of my friends act like the 10 commandments are
just the 10 suggestions now. I would be very interested to know your point
of view.

Hi!
Your friends are right and wrong.
First of all, once you are saved, you can't lose your salvation. It is not your good works that saves you, but your faith in Christ. Christ died for your sins before you aren't born yet, and you do sin every day regadless if you do it in purpose or accidently.
We all have sin against God, and we all do sin every day. You can't save yourself by just following 10 commandements. If you think you can, you take curse over you. Christ is only way to the salvation.
On the other hand your friends are wrong. We must obey God's word, and do what He say. We must open our hearts to the Holy Spirit when He shows something in our life that must be corrected. Maybe it is bad habit or old sin. You can't say: "Well, I can continue on this immoral lifestyle because Jesus forgive my sins", NO!, you must see errors, or maybe you aren't born-again christian after all.
You should say: "Sorry Jesus. I am a sinner. I can't change myself without you. Please show me the way, and I am ready to do my best". With that kind of attitude and with help of the Holy Spirit you can start a new life.
You start fixing those sins and habits in your life, and later when you look "rear-view mirror", you see that something new had happend, and you overcame your failure. Step-by-step.
Sometimes that doesn't happend in days or months. It is a lifelong process.

Jyri,
I was just showing my 19 year old son Aaron your letter and he asked
me an interesting queston that I had not thought of. In your posting
you said:
1. "First of all, once you are saved, you can't lose your salvation."
2. On the other hand your friends are wrong. We must obey God's word"
When I read that to him he stoped me at that point and asked me this question.
We MUST obey God's word OR WHAT? What does MUST mean.....Or we will loose our salvation? OR WHAT?
I thought that was a good question and could not answer him. I did not catch that when I read it. That does seem like a contirdiction to me too. Ummmmm
Maybe we did not understand your word MUST?
So my son Aaron asked if I would write you again and ask for a clerification on the wording of MUST in the light of - OR WHAT.
Thanks

Cordell,
Well, maybe I used wrong word on that, forgive me, my english is not perfect, but what I try to say is: If you are born again, you will (of one's own free will) obey God's word, and if you aren't, you don't care about the Bible, and God's teachings.
So, in short, In your life will be clear signs about something new, signs about NEW LIFE, and if there is no anything new, what so ever, there is a reason to believe that person is not really saved. ...see?
What Bible says about salvation, and losing it, please read these:
John.3:16-18 , Romans.7:1-25 , Romans.8:1-4 , Romans.8:31-39

If you want post my previous letter to your web-site, you can do it, but please add this letter to it, so my mistake will be corrected.
Thank you.
