SCOTT: Eugene, What "exactly" are you confused about? I will do my best to offer you my view.
CV:Actally my name is Eugene Cordell so call me Cordell. Thanks for offering to correspond on the subject of "being saved".
Just for starts:
Why did Christ give commandments if he did not intend we keep them?
SCOTT: ..We are meant to keep them. Perfect yourself in them, even if you are an imperfect example of them. Jesus said in St. Matthew that if we separated ourselves from our worldly attachments -- relationships and property -- and followed Jesus -- we would receive a hundredfold and would inherit eternal life. Love God with heart soul, might, mind and "like to it" your neighbor as yourself. Why? Because, as Paul tells us, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit which dwells within us. Each and every person is such a temple. Can we but love our brothers and sisters? Jesus is the way to the father, the way truth and life. His ministry includes the law. Read his brother James about the law.
CV:How can a christian justify immorality just because he or she is saved?
SCOTT:..It cannot be justified. It is sin as it has always been sin. They deceive themselves.
CV: Why do most Christains consider the 10 commandments the 10 suggestions now days?
SCOTT: ..Because the attraction of sin and Godlessness is greater for these people than God's word.
CV: Why are christian ministers (many of them) teaching that people do not need to repent to go to heaven?
SCOTT:..Because they believe (Paul's ministry) that belief in Jesus's crucixion saves us. That's it -- nothing else.
SCOTT:..It is late and I am just back from vacation. Your questions deserve better replies. I will try again tomorrow. Write back if you wish.
